Information on „Megatrend International University Vienna“

In May 2011 the site of the association „The International University Vienna“, whose accreditation as private university has been revoked by ÖAR in 2003, has been taken over by the Serbian Megatrend University. Since then it operates a subsidiary in Austria under the designation „Megatrend International University Vienna".

The official accreditation body of the Republic of Serbia informs that the Megatrend University is a recognised private university in Serbia. However, it is not allowed to offer study programmes in Vienna.

The official notification of the Commission for Accreditation and Quality Assurance of the Republic of Serbia states:

„Megatrend University has not been accredited to provide education abroad and award Serbian degrees in Vienna. Such an accreditation request has not been submitted to the Commission for Accreditation and Quality Assurance of the Republic of Serbia”

ÖAR points to the fact that study programmes which are not included in the respective national accreditation do not lead to an internationally recognised academic degree.
